Every client file, right in Explorer and Finder.
Debits Drive puts your clients' files in a folder on your computer. Open a workpaper in Excel, save it, and the new version is already in Debits — no download, no re-upload.
Included with every Debits plan, for everyone on your team. Windows 10 or 11, or macOS (an Intel build that runs on Apple Silicon through Rosetta). On a Mac every file is downloaded to the folder; on-demand files are Windows-only for now.
The problem
Client files live in the portal, but the work happens in Excel, Word and Acrobat on your desktop. So every edit becomes download, save, upload — and a "final-v2" copy on someone's desktop that nobody else can find.
How Debits does it
Install the Debits Desktop app and sign in through your browser — your password never goes into the app. A Debits Drive folder appears with a folder for every client you're assigned, sorted into Contacts, Companies and General. Open any file in the app you already use and save: the change goes back to Debits as a new version of the same file, with every earlier version kept in its history. New files, renames and moves sync too; work you do offline uploads when you reconnect; and if a colleague changed the same file, you choose which copy to keep. On Windows, files take no disk space until you open them, just like OneDrive. Scan paper straight from your scanner into a client's files, or point the app at a folder of client subfolders and it matches each one to the right contact. Each person sees only the clients they're assigned — and when an admin revokes someone's access, the client files are wiped from that computer.
- A folder for every client in Explorer & Finder
- Saves become new versions — never duplicates
- Files on demand on Windows — no disk space until opened
- Works offline, syncs when you reconnect
- Scan to a client; bulk upload with contact matching
- Scoped to each person's clients, wiped on revoke
